An Evening for Madagascar With Dr. Timothy Eppley at the Tennessee Aquarium
April 7 @ 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm UTC-8

Join us for a special evening of exploration and conservation as the Tennessee Aquarium shines a spotlight on Madagascar’s extraordinary wildlife—and the urgent efforts underway to protect it.
On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, guests will enjoy an immersive experience featuring lemurs, tortoises, and first hand stories from the field.
The evening begins with appetizers and beverages during cocktail hour, where you’ll meet one of the Aquarium’s resident Radiated Tortoises—a critically endangered species native to southern Madagascar. Following this exclusive encounter, guests will gather in the River Journey Auditorium for a compelling presentation from the Aquarium’s lemur and tortoise experts, who will share insights about the animals in their care and their conservation work abroad.
The highlight of the evening will be a special presentation by Dr. Timothy Eppley, Chief Conservation Officer for Wildlife Madagascar. Dr. Eppley will discuss his field research and conservation leadership in Madagascar, including his work in and around Masoala National Park, one of the island’s most biodiverse and threatened landscapes. Guests will gain a rare look into the challenges facing Madagascar’s endemic species—and the innovative solutions being implemented to ensure their survival.
Following the presentation, attendees are invited to visit the Ocean Journey Tropical Cove for special lemur enrichment activities.
