Claire Pierangelo is a former career U.S. diplomat with over four decades of international leadership experience. She most recently served as U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Madagascar and as U.S. Ambassador to the Union of the Comoros. Her diplomatic career spanned assignments across Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, and Africa, as well as leadership positions in Washington, D.C.

A San Diego native, Ambassador Pierangelo brings a lifetime of cross-cultural engagement and global policy experience to conservation efforts worldwide. She currently also is an Advisory Board Member for the Stony Brook University Institute for the Conservation of Tropical Environments, Centre ValBio in Madagascar.
