VICTORIA GARRISON

Board Member

Victoria Garrison worked as Director of Education for the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance for over 42 years. She directed a staff of 70 to 90 employees, including educators, narrators, education managers, program aides, student interns, consultants, and support staff. Victoria coordinated the development of education programs and materials, department budgets, and strategic plans, and networked with many local and national conservation and education organizations.

Victoria has served as the board chair for I Love a Clean San Diego and YMCA Youth and Family Services. She has participated on the boards of the Jarrett Meeker Foundation, the San Diego Science Educators Association, and LEAD San Diego. Victoria has chaired conferences and fundraising events, written for a variety of publications, co-authored and illustrated a book, and starred in a Disney video. She earned a B.A. in Liberal Studies from San Diego State University, as well as a Multiple Subjects and a Special Education Teaching Credential. Now retired, Victoria has the opportunity to indulge in her passion for travel; she has visited 31 states and 56 countries to date, including Madagascar.
